{ Change the World With Kent }

Another great story from ABC15 in Phoenix... and another bit of criteria for Kent's dream girl - he wants "someone he can change the world with"... could it be you?

{ Meet Amie Hansen... }

Name: Amie Hansen

Age: 26

Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ – currently living in Salt Lake City, UT
What I do for work and the best thing about it:
I am the Public Relations Manager at Launch Leads, a B2B appointment setting and lead generation company. I cold-call CEOs and senior executives of major corporations to setup sales appointments on behalf of our clients. I also create a “buzz” and obtain positive publicity through (OK, get ready for some PR jargon) writing press releases, setting up and coordinating interviews for the CEO, obtaining recognition through awards, maintaining the social media sites and writing on the company blog to increase direct traffic to our website and increase SEO.
Additionally, my other title, and the best part of my job, is being the Culture Fairy. As the Culture Fairy my sole responsibility is to ensure employee happiness through maintaining a great company culture. I plan spontaneous parties, bring in treats weekly, and take time to celebrate each employee on an individual basis. I love details and, for me, it’s the little things that make the big difference. I love to serve people and as the Culture Fairy I try and find little creative ways to make someones day.
Why Kent and I are destined to be together:
Are we destined? I don’t know, but I’d sure love the opportunity to find out. On paper, Kent seems like the perfect guy and at 6’6” he is head and shoulders above anyone I’ve ever dated. He seems like a solid guy. He is driven and goes after what he wants and that is very attractive to me. From what little I know of Kent we have a lot in common. As I did my “research” and read what he wrote on his blog, his words really struck me and I felt an immediate connection to what he was saying. Reading how the gospel truly is at the center of who he is, and how it plays a part in his everyday life, really hit me because that is how I am and I’ve always envisioned being with someone who looked at life and the gospel the same way I do.
To me, destiny is a culmination of individual decisions that make up a whole. Kent and I have each had different experiences in our lives that have shaped us and made us who we are today and ultimately brought us to this point (potentially meeting on the Mormon Bachelor). We have the same goals, ideas and desires for the future and are on the same page with so many things which is really important for a relationship to work long term. So, are we destined? I think we could be, but I guess we’ll actually have to meet to find out.

{ Meet Mellissa Rosenhan... }

Name: Mellissa Rosenhan

Age: 25

Hometown: Waterford, Michigan (I now live in Salt Lake City, Utah)

What do you want to be when you grow up?:
 I am realizing that when I was young I thought grown-ups had their life together and always knew exactly what they wanted to do and why.  Now that I am kind of a "grown-up" I am realizing that my dreams and visions for the future are constantly changing and evolving.  Right now I am doing one of my dream jobs, studying and managing plants, soils, and streams for the Bureau of Land Management.  In the future, depending on where life takes me, I could see myself possibly pursuing a law degree and working as an environmental lawyer.  Whenever the opportunity comes my way to be a mother I am also excited and look forward to raising children!  So, what do I want to be when I grow up...who knows where life will take me, but I want to always have joy and feel fulfilled in whatever I am doing.

Why do you want to date Kent?: Kent is a catch!!  He is serious about finding someone to share his life with, and I get the impression that he is the type of guy I am looking for.  It is hard to know if you would hit it off with someone without meeting them, but I think that Kent and I have some good things in common.  He is driven and motivated, he is spiritual, keeps an eternal perspective, loves being active and adventurous, and family is important to him.  I am looking forward to the opportunity of getting to know him better, to see if our personalities are as compatible as our life goals and values. :)

{ Calling All Singles! Giveaway! }

Here at TMB you know we love helping people find love. Call it a passion, a mission, a hobby, an obsession...call it what you like, but we love to do it! And NOW we have a chance to help YOU TOO!

We've heard a buzz around Southern California that one of the veteran singles from around here is writing a humorous/guidebook for midsingles. We are EXCITED! Let's be honest, we all like to laugh at ourselves, and each other, and talk about being single and how NOT to be single any longer. And we love to feel connected and hear success stories. She's got a good one. So anyway, for part of her research we are helping her with a survey and we need YOU!

Let's get some stats on singles, shall we? PLEASE take a few minutes to fill it out and send all your single friends to help too. The more responses, the better feel we can get for the different perspectives that are out there and the more fun it will be to share!

***Another buzz told us that she's writing a feature on mid singles for LDS Living Magazine in the next few months and wants to include the survey results IF we get enough stats! Check out her bio below.

The survey will be open for one week only. Tell your friends.  One of the lucky survey winners will win dinner for 2 and 2 movie tickets - here's the catch - you have to use them on a date:).

{ Meet Rachael May... }

Age: 27

Hometown: Ridgecrest, CA - currently live in Bakersfield, CA

Job: Registered nurse in a medical clinic

What is your idea of a perfect first date and what the was the best date you have been on?: My idea of a perfect date is doing something where my date and I can interact. I believe you can learn a lot about a person by how they act in different situations. Actions speak louder then words.  It's hard to decide on what's been my favorite date activity but I've narrowed I down to my top three. 1. He asked me out by making me go on a scavenger hunt. We went to an arcade and challenged each other for a favor. He won of course ;) 2. We went on a bike ride and then shot mini marshmallows through PVC pipes at targets. We were going to ride to an ice cream parlor but I ended up with a flat tire and we had to walk the bikes back. We then drove to the ice cream parlor and shared and ice cream. 3. We went to a park and colored in coloring books and then played hackey sack.

Why are you and Kent meant to be?: I haven't met Kent yet so I don't have much to go off of. From what I do know of him, he seems to have a love of the Gospel, he values education, and his family is central in his life which are all a priority to me. We're both confident, successful adults and I believe together, if things are right, we would be really great for one another.

{ Meet Cerissa Urry... }

Meet Cerissa Urry, a 22yr old ballerina from Layton, Utah. Cerissa now lives in Modesto where she dances for the Central West Ballet as a principal dancer. She also works at the camera center in town restoring old photos, scanning and printing enlargements, and producing slide shows.

Cerissa believes that the best time spent traveling is always in the company of her family. Her favorite vacations include many road trips to the west coast and on top of that, her dancing endeavors in New England gave her good excuses to also tour that part of the nation.

Along with the West Coast and New England ,Cerissa is really intrigued by the by culture, history and even politics of the Middle East. She has always wanted to see and experience the Egyptian ruins; however, in the last few years, she has also really wanted to visit Israel. She can’t really put her finger on it, but thinks it has something to do with walking the same plot of Earth as Moses and Jesus Christ that hits home.

In Cerissa's own words about Kent: "I am having such a hard time putting it into words, but when I ponder this question about why Kent and I would be good together, the one thought remains: He is good and he is a Son of God - he gets it. And what I mean by “it”, is he’s looking for a companion with the right spirit and I feel he is really seeking qualities of eternal worth - as am I. He’s not perfect, I’m not perfect, but we’re both facing this opportunity prayerfully. This even puts me in a vulnerable position, but I’m doing it because I feel something good in my heart - more than just an agenda of things we have in common. So destined? Who knows, I’m not one to put the cart before the horse, but is he worth taking a risk? Yes."

{ Meet Laura Bullock... }

Laura is a beautiful 27-old Colorado native who works as a front desk receptionist at WGU.  The most adventurous thing she has ever done was taking a combat class at the gym - it ended up being a lot like boxing but she loved it!  One daredevil thing that she would love to do but hasn't yet it skydiving.

In Laura's own words, "From what I know of Kent we have similar views and goals for life. We both are striving to have a Christ centered life. We are on the same page as far as the central and most important things in life. we both want the same home life in our marriages and our driven by goals and ambitions. I feel like we have very compatible personalities, that we would get along great but have enough differences that things will be fresh and interesting. And to top it all of since I am 6 feet we are a great height match!"

{ Courtney Smith... }

Age: 23

Hometown: Reno, NV

If you could trade lives with any celebrity who would it be and why? :
If I could trade lives with any celebrity it would defintely have to be Lindsay Lohan. The way she goes in and out of rehab like she does is inspiring! JUST KIDDING! In actuality, I would probably choose Jennifer Garner. I  obviously don't know her, but I get the impression that she's an amazing woman. I love that she is so talented and seems to love what she does. She seems so happy and loving; these are characteristics I feel like we have in common. She's also so beautiful (inside and out), she seems to just glow.She keeps her private life private. That must be super difficult to do in the spotlight. But she does it with such poise. How many other celebrities can we say that about? Ummm almost none. More than anything, she is a wife and mom. Most of the pictures I see of her she is with her family. I want more than anything to be a good wife and mother. She seems to exemplify those qualities. And who doesn't like 13 Going on 30, right?!

Why would you like to go on a date with Kent?:
I would love to go on a date with Kent. I'm not going to lie, I'm not the most athletic person in the world. I've been watching the videos of other girls, and they seem to love sports. Don't get me wrong, I totally respect athletes and the work they put into that part of their lives. But I'm not Super Athlete or anything. I do enjoy being active;
playing tennis, hiking, anything that I can enjoy with great friends and family. With all of that being said, I want to try things that my significant other loves doing, and vise versa. This shows support and love for the other person.

I may be a super creeper, but I've been reading some of Kent's blog posts. I can't help but notice how many times he mentions his family and the Gospel. These are the most important things in my life. I love the Church more than anything. I know if you put the Gospel first, everything else will fall into place. I have a strong testimony, and I can tell Kent does as well. My family is also so important. And I get to live with them forever! I want to have my own eternal family, and I know Kent wants that as well.

And timing really is everything. I'm ready to date someone who is actually on the same page as me. It has been so difficult to find this. Kent and I seem to be on the same page; at least the same chapter. So I would love to get a chance to find out what could potentially happen. And did I mention I'm attracted to him? That's always important as well. He seems like he has his head on his shoulders. We definitely have that in common! :)

{ Kat Ramos... }

Age: 32

Hometown: Dayton, Oregon (Currently in Huntington Beach, CA)

Job: MassageTherapist, Specializing in sport and injury massage. (My own private practice)

Would I beat Kent in a game of volleyball? : I would definitely give him a run for his money. I play on the right side in beach volleyball and have developed a killer line shot high in the deep corner. And it usually ends the rally haha. I would just have to be sure to get it over his enormous block ;) Honestly i don't know who would win but I would love the opportunity to find out.

Why do I want to get to know Kent better on the Mormon Bachelor? : I think Kent would appreciate a woman who challenges him and is able to build him up at the same time. A woman who wants to be an amazing wife and mother. After having the opportunity to serve a Spanish speaking mission (the best experience of my life), I learned so much not just about the gospel, but about life and how to receive revelation. The things you learn on a mission are priceless. My favorite scripture is in Luke 2:52 : “AndJesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” It teaches us that the savior was perfectly balanced. He was educated, physically fit, spiritually strong and socially knew how to positively affect everyone in all walks of life. This scripture has taught me to become the woman I am. And from what I’ve seen of Kent’s blog and Mormon Bachelor profile, we have several basic things in common and very similar goals. All it takes is GOOD COMMUNICATION, COMMON GOALS and CHEMISTRY. That is why I want the opportunity to date him. Because if he truly is everything he seems to be and those three things are there…I think we would have an excellent chance at a truly happy future together.

{ Chantel Laser... }

I am 21 years old and I am from Boise, ID. I am currently a TA for an intro to marketing class at BYU, but I will be starting my career at Stanley Black and Decker in June in their Leadership Development Program for Marketing. I will start working in San Francisco in mid-June and my official title will be Home Depot Territory Manager.

I am very optimistic, and I love to make people laugh. I am smiling almost all of the time, and my friends say that I have a distinctive laugh. I'm not afraid to be silly or goofy.  I am very passionate. I never do anything halfway, I'm either all in or all out. That's why I finished college in just 3 years - I was just too driven to ever stop!  I am very creative, which really helps in my line of work. I love to travel, I love to write in my blog, I love to play music and I love studying history.

I think Kent and I would be a great team because we both are driven to be our best selves and have high aspirations for our lives. He's furthering his education to become a dentist someday, and I have hopes of someday getting a PhD in Marketing. We are both willing to step out of our comfort zones to become our best selves. We are both confident and comfortable with who we are, and not afraid to say what is on our minds. I really appreciate how open Kent is on his blog, and I think he would be that open in person, and that's something I really value. I'm looking forward to meeting Kent and discovering all of the other qualities we may have in common!

{ Meet Tori Kooyman... }

Tori Ann Kooyman is a 22-year old beauty living in Salt Lake City, UT, and works as a Massage Therapist at Muscle Works Sports and Injury Therapy.

Tori's ideal date would be simple... Something fun and outgoing, but able to have a good conversation with no awkward moments. And of course with a guy that she likes, and he likes her back!  The best dates are the ones that make her walk through the door at the end of it smiling, feeling butterflies and hoping for another date with him soon. The craziest thing Tori has ever done on a date would have to be canopy Ziplining down a mountain!

In Tori's own words: "I would want to be in a relationship with Kent, because he is seriously everything I've been looking for in a guy. Its also much more than just the physical things. I can tell he is so sincere and genuine and his testimony is incredible. He knows what he wants and is a caring person and I'm the same way and we could work so well together. I would be the luckiest girl in the world to have someone like that by my side! It definitely helps that we also have so much in common and could relate on every different level of life. It wouldn't be a problem for me to live where he wants to live either, because I would love to get out of Utah and be somewhere warmer! :)  Kent and I could, for sure, be an amazing couple and he would definitely make me want to be a better person every day, which is what I've always wanted to feel like with a guy!"

{ Meet Chelsea Larsen... }

Our next Bachelorette hopeful Chelsea Larsen, is a 19-year old student, blogger, and PR Manager for (kno)name.  She hails from Edmond, Oklahoma, and if she could spend her time doing anything in the world she would travel all over the world to learn about different cultures and do service work (teaching English, building schools, missionary work).

Chelsea's favorite volunteer experience was when she helped put together backpacks full of school supplies for students who couldn't afford it. It amazed her to see how much happiness markers, pencils, paper, and a new backpack can bring to a child. Chelsea feels so blessed to have had such a rich volunteering experience and hopes to be able to "give back" throughout her life.

In Chelsea's own words, "Kent and I would be a power couple because we both are well traveled, want a marriage in the San Diego temple, are competitive with a love for sports, and are spontaneous. I want someone who is goal-oriented, enjoys being with family, and enjoys everything life has to offer. I feel like Kent is exactly that! After dating someone who didn't believe in the same things as me, I realized how important it is to be with someone who has similar goals as me. After reading some of Kent's blog, I feel like we share a lot of the same goals such as having an eternal family, doing service in other countries, and want to enjoy everything life has to offer!
