{ Meet Courtney Childress... }

Age: 23

Hometown: Gilbert, AZ

Occupation: Marketing Assistant for Brain State Technologies
The BEST date I have ever been on would be:  We went the the Diamondbacks game, ate a classic hot dog, hung-out and had a good conversation.  We watched the fireworks after the game and then rode on our beach cruisers by Tempe Beach Park enjoying some people watching and the amazing AZ spring weather.  I loved this dated because it was a relaxing atmosphere, and I felt comfortable with my date.  We both seemed to enjoy each others company, the activities and conversation came easy.
The WORST date I have ever been on would be: I was set up on a blind date, So he came to pick me up at my house and we went to dinner. We went to go have Thai food which is not my favorite, but I was up for trying it again.  As we were having dinner, the converstation was became kind-of awkward, but tried my hardest to make the best out of it.  It was a pretty early dinner so I assumed we were doing some type of activity after UNTIL we got back into the car and he said "Hey, sorry to end this so early, but is it cool if I take you back home? I am actually heading down to Tucson with a few friends tonight".  So by 7 o'clock I was back home. This date was an epic fail in my opinion.  I felt like he just felt obligated to take me out because we were set up by mutual friends.  I felt rushed and he didn't seem to be too interested in me or what I had to say but only the time.
Why Kent and I would make a great match: Although I haven't met Kent I think we would make a great match because we both seem ready to follow our hearts and take the next big step in our lives in finding a best friend, spouse, and eternal companion.  We both enjoy sports, adventures,  and traveling.  We both cherish our relationships with our family.  Being close to our families is important and they really are our best friends.  We have strong testimonies of the gospel and want the gospel to be the center of our lives.  We both like to service others and want that to be a huge part of how we live.  I think we have both been let down in some of our relationships, so we both know what we are really looking for in a relationship that will last forever.  We are both motivated, loyal, have the desire to serve others, and tackle life's challenges together with a SMILE on our faces.

{ Meet Noelle Thiel... }

Name: Noelle Thiel

Age: 28

Hometown: Linden, CA

Occupation: Elementary School Teacher

What kind of girlfriend do you think you are when you are in a relationship?: I am the type of girlfriend who is very supportive and caring. I love unconditionally and truly care about my boyfriend's feelings. I am very thoughtful and try to put myself in the other person's shoes and try to understand where they are coming from in every situation so that I can be there for them if and when they need me. I am such a forgiving person and realize that life is too short and unpredictable to waste time being upset. I enjoy doing things on my own and would like my boyfriend to pursue his hobbies with or without me. I can hang out with him and his friends and be perfectly content and don't need attention 24/7. I can get along with anyone and make any situation fun! I love the little things and think they make such a difference so I try to think of things on a daily basis that will make him smile. I am very generous and will give my time freely. He can count on me to be there.

Why are Kent and I a match made in heaven?: I obviously don't know Kent but I think we could potentially have some things in common. He seems like a very driven and motivated person and I feel that I possess those same qualities. I know what I want in my life and he seems to be in that same place. I know what's important and am ready to have a life with someone and start a family. Kent is strong in the church as am I. I want to have a gospel centered home because I believe that is the way to everlasting joy. He wants to change the world and I feel that as a teacher I get to make a difference on a daily basis.

{ Meet Shauna Sargent... }

Age: 24

Hometown: Tempe, AZ (Currently living in SLC)

Occupation: Marketing for Overstock.com

Three Words I Would Use to Describe Myself: Personable, happy and dedicated.

Why Kent and I Would Make a Great Match: Kent and I are both tall, brunette, athletic and both served missions in South America...sounds like it would be a great match to me! I have never met Kent before and don't know too much about him, but I do look forward to getting to know him better on a date. It seems like the timing is right for the both of us. We are both in our mid-twenties, have traveled lots, have had fun in the singles scene and are now ready to take that next step in life. I feel like both Kent and I like to have a good time, be with family and friends and keep our priorities straight as we live gospel centered lives.

{ Meet Angela de Moura... }

Age: 33

Hometown: Florianopolis, Brazil

Job: Enrollment Counselor for online university

What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done and what would you like to do someday?  I tried paragliding for the first time last year.  I have so many other things I want to do, some silly, some meaningful.  Silly: I GOTTA learn how to do a cartwheel before I die! Meaningful: I want to do humanitarian work in South America and Africa.  I love children and want to teach them.  I want to travel the world, and try as many new adventures as I can.

Why is Kent your perfect match?  Kent is grounded, down to earth, driven, and passionate about life.  He loves the Gospel and is ready to settle down.  Like he said, everyone deserves a second chance in love, and I'm ready for mine!  The timing is perfect for us both, we have very compatible personalities and similar goals in life.  We'd definitely hit it off and have tons of fun taking the world by storm!

{ Meet Maddy Jack... }

Name: Maddy Jack

Age: 21

Hometown: Riverton, Utah

What I do for work and the best thing about it: I am an Account Manager at an advertising agency in Salt Lake City. Even though we have deadlines almost daily, I love that my office is easy going and that people don't take things too seriously. I like to work hard and keep busy, time always goes by faster that way, and it helps me feel more productive! It's a great feeling when I have worked hard on a project and the client really appreciates the work I have done, and I love seeing the client happy and successful.

Why Kent and I are going to be soul mates: Honestly, I haven't read a ton about Kent, because I'd rather get to know him in person. But from what I have read, he seems great! The fact that he is continuing his education by going to dental school shows he is motivated and values education. I've never had a cavity, so he can use my teeth as an example any day! He seems to love his family, that is awesome that he realizes the importance of family. Loving and living the gospel also seems like a high priority to him. The gospel is extremely valuable to me as well, I'm not perfect by any means, but I do try my best and want to be with someone who does as well. I think we would have fun together and I'm always up for something new. I think that two ordinary people can become extraordinary together when they are living the gospel and lifting each other up.

{ Meet Carly Walker... }

Name: Carly Walker

Age: 24

Hometown: Draper, UT currently living in Santa Monica, CA

What I do for work and the best thing about it: I do social media strategy for an advertising agency. The best part about my job is that it's by the beach. If I ever need a break, its great to know that I could make a break for it down the street and fling my body into the ocean. What I like about my actual job is that I feel like I work with some of my best friends. We are just a bunch of kids bringing our off-the-wall ideas to life and crossing our fingers that they go viral. It's nice to get paid for things you would normally do just for fun and to get paid to hang out with people you would want to be hanging out with. I feel lucky every day that I get to have that.

Why Kent and I are meant to be: I have actually never met Kent so I can't say that we are meant to be. However, based off the fact that one of us is an incredible athlete and both of us are bloggers (shameless plug in for carlybird.com), I feel like we have a good shot. In all honesty, he seems like an all around great guy, and I think it would be fun to get to know him. I feel like we are both in a good place (LA) and ready to try something new.

{ Change the World With Kent }

Another great story from ABC15 in Phoenix... and another bit of criteria for Kent's dream girl - he wants "someone he can change the world with"... could it be you?

{ Meet Amie Hansen... }

Name: Amie Hansen

Age: 26

Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ – currently living in Salt Lake City, UT
What I do for work and the best thing about it:
I am the Public Relations Manager at Launch Leads, a B2B appointment setting and lead generation company. I cold-call CEOs and senior executives of major corporations to setup sales appointments on behalf of our clients. I also create a “buzz” and obtain positive publicity through (OK, get ready for some PR jargon) writing press releases, setting up and coordinating interviews for the CEO, obtaining recognition through awards, maintaining the social media sites and writing on the company blog to increase direct traffic to our website and increase SEO.
Additionally, my other title, and the best part of my job, is being the Culture Fairy. As the Culture Fairy my sole responsibility is to ensure employee happiness through maintaining a great company culture. I plan spontaneous parties, bring in treats weekly, and take time to celebrate each employee on an individual basis. I love details and, for me, it’s the little things that make the big difference. I love to serve people and as the Culture Fairy I try and find little creative ways to make someones day.
Why Kent and I are destined to be together:
Are we destined? I don’t know, but I’d sure love the opportunity to find out. On paper, Kent seems like the perfect guy and at 6’6” he is head and shoulders above anyone I’ve ever dated. He seems like a solid guy. He is driven and goes after what he wants and that is very attractive to me. From what little I know of Kent we have a lot in common. As I did my “research” and read what he wrote on his blog, his words really struck me and I felt an immediate connection to what he was saying. Reading how the gospel truly is at the center of who he is, and how it plays a part in his everyday life, really hit me because that is how I am and I’ve always envisioned being with someone who looked at life and the gospel the same way I do.
To me, destiny is a culmination of individual decisions that make up a whole. Kent and I have each had different experiences in our lives that have shaped us and made us who we are today and ultimately brought us to this point (potentially meeting on the Mormon Bachelor). We have the same goals, ideas and desires for the future and are on the same page with so many things which is really important for a relationship to work long term. So, are we destined? I think we could be, but I guess we’ll actually have to meet to find out.

{ Meet Mellissa Rosenhan... }

Name: Mellissa Rosenhan

Age: 25

Hometown: Waterford, Michigan (I now live in Salt Lake City, Utah)

What do you want to be when you grow up?:
 I am realizing that when I was young I thought grown-ups had their life together and always knew exactly what they wanted to do and why.  Now that I am kind of a "grown-up" I am realizing that my dreams and visions for the future are constantly changing and evolving.  Right now I am doing one of my dream jobs, studying and managing plants, soils, and streams for the Bureau of Land Management.  In the future, depending on where life takes me, I could see myself possibly pursuing a law degree and working as an environmental lawyer.  Whenever the opportunity comes my way to be a mother I am also excited and look forward to raising children!  So, what do I want to be when I grow up...who knows where life will take me, but I want to always have joy and feel fulfilled in whatever I am doing.

Why do you want to date Kent?: Kent is a catch!!  He is serious about finding someone to share his life with, and I get the impression that he is the type of guy I am looking for.  It is hard to know if you would hit it off with someone without meeting them, but I think that Kent and I have some good things in common.  He is driven and motivated, he is spiritual, keeps an eternal perspective, loves being active and adventurous, and family is important to him.  I am looking forward to the opportunity of getting to know him better, to see if our personalities are as compatible as our life goals and values. :)

{ Calling All Singles! Giveaway! }

Here at TMB you know we love helping people find love. Call it a passion, a mission, a hobby, an obsession...call it what you like, but we love to do it! And NOW we have a chance to help YOU TOO!

We've heard a buzz around Southern California that one of the veteran singles from around here is writing a humorous/guidebook for midsingles. We are EXCITED! Let's be honest, we all like to laugh at ourselves, and each other, and talk about being single and how NOT to be single any longer. And we love to feel connected and hear success stories. She's got a good one. So anyway, for part of her research we are helping her with a survey and we need YOU!

Let's get some stats on singles, shall we? PLEASE take a few minutes to fill it out and send all your single friends to help too. The more responses, the better feel we can get for the different perspectives that are out there and the more fun it will be to share!

***Another buzz told us that she's writing a feature on mid singles for LDS Living Magazine in the next few months and wants to include the survey results IF we get enough stats! Check out her bio below.

The survey will be open for one week only. Tell your friends.  One of the lucky survey winners will win dinner for 2 and 2 movie tickets - here's the catch - you have to use them on a date:).

{ Meet Rachael May... }

Age: 27

Hometown: Ridgecrest, CA - currently live in Bakersfield, CA

Job: Registered nurse in a medical clinic

What is your idea of a perfect first date and what the was the best date you have been on?: My idea of a perfect date is doing something where my date and I can interact. I believe you can learn a lot about a person by how they act in different situations. Actions speak louder then words.  It's hard to decide on what's been my favorite date activity but I've narrowed I down to my top three. 1. He asked me out by making me go on a scavenger hunt. We went to an arcade and challenged each other for a favor. He won of course ;) 2. We went on a bike ride and then shot mini marshmallows through PVC pipes at targets. We were going to ride to an ice cream parlor but I ended up with a flat tire and we had to walk the bikes back. We then drove to the ice cream parlor and shared and ice cream. 3. We went to a park and colored in coloring books and then played hackey sack.

Why are you and Kent meant to be?: I haven't met Kent yet so I don't have much to go off of. From what I do know of him, he seems to have a love of the Gospel, he values education, and his family is central in his life which are all a priority to me. We're both confident, successful adults and I believe together, if things are right, we would be really great for one another.
